We started redesigning the Doodle Android App in March of this year. Our goal was to develop a truly native app that utilizes all possibilities to increase productivity as well as efficiency. Only by reaching that goal would we be able to meet the high standard that is associated with the Doodle brand.
By working together with partners such as the Google team in London and by utilizing cutting-edge technology and principles, we are always striving to raise the bar in order to improve upon the functionality that's provided by Doodle as a whole.

But what have we been doing during the past few months, and what's next? Native applications offer great convenience and allow for more efficiency. In order to make use of that, our app must have all of the functionality that is provided by our website, which our users have become accustomed to over the years. A recent example of accomplishing that ambition is the integration of calendars, enabling you to see your plans at a glance while creating or participating in a poll. Push notifications have also been implemented in our app so you can always stay up to date.
Just recently, Google launched the newest Android version (6.0) called Marshmallow. In light of that, we have put in a lot of work to support its most important features, such as the permission system, from day one. As a result of our efforts, Google decided to feature us on the official list of Top Apps for Android Marshmallow. More details about the new features of the most recent Android update can be found here.

Thanks to the integration of Smart Lock, Doodle now offers an additional login option that is even easier, faster, and more secure than before since email addresses and passwords will now be able to be automatically synchronized across all of your devices. As soon as you install our app, Smart Lock will detect your credentials and offer you this new login. Detailed information on how this feature works can be retrieved from here.
What to expect next:
Nearby ― Invite participants who are in your immediate vicinity to your poll. Imagine a meeting where you want everyone present to be able to participate in a poll. Using Nearby, you can invite everyone with a single tap without needing to get their contact details. Thanks to the Doodle mobile app, everyone can now match their plans with the poll's suggested options and make decisions much more efficiently.
